After a LONG week of doctors appointments, being sent to labor and delivery, and being sent home again (all due to my blood pressure deciding to go a little crazy), we went into the hospital Saturday morning to be induced. I checked in at 8 am and I was started on pitocin around 9. I had my water broke at noon and was ready to push by 2. Blake Erikson Smith made his debut at 4:03 pm weighing 7 lbs and 14 oz and was 20 3/4 long. A few hours after delivery my mom came up with Owen, Great Grandpa Ellis and Great Grandma Eva. Owen was beyond exited to meet Blake. He brought him a monkey and a "pupcake" (cupcake) to celebrate his birthday. Of course he wanted to eat the "pupcake" right away! Owen held Blake for the first time. Owen told Blake that he had weird toes, announced that Blake didn't like him because he wasn't talking to him, then said "he not talk yet, he's a baby!" Owen was a very proud big brother and his faces in the pictures are pure awe and priceless. After my mom, Grandma, and Grandpa visited they left with Owen and headed up north to the cabin for the rest of Memorial Day weekend. Not long after they left Erik's parents arrived to meet Blake and bring us Jersey Giant subs, which I had been waiting months to eat! Everyone left shortly after 8:30 and we sent Blake to the nursery around 10 for the night so we could get some sleep.
