We drove up to Loon Lake Thursday night after Owen's baseball game. We got up bright and early and headed into Ludington Friday morning. The kids enjoyed Sandcastles, the children's museum for a few hours. We then went to Jamesport for lunch before heading back to the cabin.
On Saturday Loon Lake hosted all their 4th of July events. Allison and Josh came over and we spent the day enjoying party island and sangria! We watched the annual boat parade before heading out on the pontoon to watch the fireworks over the lake.

Sunday and Monday were pretty low key. Owen went out fishing with Great Grandpa Ellis and Unky Zach. While casting he let go of his fishing pole, which then had to be fished out of the lake by Zach. Thank goodness they were in a shallow enough area to recover his "lucky pole" The boys spent a lot of time jumping in the lake and trying to catch Unky Zach's football passes off the dock. We celebrated the 4th of July on the lake by taking a few family pictures and having a delicious smoked rib and chicken dinner. Uncle Scooter and Aunt Lori came up Monday night. They boys were thrilled to see them and that they were staying the night. After dinner we went for a pontoon ride before shooting off bottle rockets and playing with sparklers.
Tuesday was a HOT day. We started the day off with a kayak trip around the lake with Scooter and Lori. The rest of the day was spent in the lake on party island and jumping off the pontoon in the middle of the lake. Uncle Scooter entertained the boys by throwing football passes off the dock.
Wednesday was a VERY exciting day for our family. We all got around and headed into Ludington. We walked out to the lighthouse. On our way out Zach surprised Kas by proposing! She was completely surprised and it was a beautiful moment to witness! Luckily she said yes and we are so looking forward to having her "officially" join the family in 2018! After our exciting walk Kas showed off her ring to Grandma and Grandpa, who didn't make the walk out. We celebrated with a lunch at Jamesport. We wanted to play some putt putt, but we were highly disappointed that AJ's had closed. We enjoyed a blizzard a DQ before heading back to the lake. After the kids were in bed we popped some champagne to celebrate the engaged couple while playing cards.
Thursday was our last full day at the lake. It was incrediably hot out. We spent the majority of the day playing in the lake before taking the kids pon-tubing. As we were tubing a storm blew in. We vacated the lake, got cleaned up and took Owen to Na-tah-ka for dinner. We headed home Friday morning after a wonder week at the lake.
