The Big Storm

Friday night after school we went down to my parents to go swimming.  It was muggy and miserable out.  While we were swimming a storm rolled in.  We went inside just before the rain started.  It got nasty pretty quickly and we ended up with "straight winds" causing some serious damage.  There were trees everywhere and we were unable to return to our house since there were trees down on Durfee in all directions.  We had to pick up our pool toys from the field behind my parents house.  My parents lost about 25 trees, one hitting a barn, and another hitting my dads snow plow.  We lost 5 trees in our yard and quite a few in the tree lines around our property.  We spent the entire weekend without power.  The city of Eaton Rapids claims this was the worst storm to hit the city in history.  Downtown looked like a tornado touched down.  Trees were uprooted everywhere.
